White Bread

1 packet dry active Fleischman yeast

2 1/4 c warm water (use thermometer- 110 degree)

3 Tb white sugar

1 Tb salt

2 Tb canola oil

6 1/4-1/2 c bread flour


In a large bowl dissolve yeast with water for about 5 minutes. Beat in sugar, salt, oil and 6 cups of your flour. Add flour 1/2 c at a time until you have one big soft ball of dough.


Turn out onto floured counter. Use hands to knead for 10 minutes. Make into a ball and place in a greased bowl.


Spray dough ball with pam. Cover with cling wrap and put in a warm area of your house to rise for 90 minutes.


Uncover and punch dough. Turn out onto floured and separate into two halves.


Grease two 9 inch rectangular bakers and transfer loaves into them. Cover each with cling wrap and let double in size for 45 minutes.


Uncover and bake at 375 for 35 minutes or until golden and hollow sounding when you tap them.


Makes two loaves, 10 slices per loaf.
