Traditional Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/4 cup crisco shortening

  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 1/2 cups flour

  • 12 ounce semi sweet chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 375 F.


Beat butter and crisco together. Add both sugars, eggs and vanilla.


In a separate bowl combine flour with baking soda and salt.


Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture.


Stir in chocolate chips.


Refridgerate one hour.

Drop by rounded teaspoons two inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Press a few more chips into the tops of each cookie.


Bake 8-9 minutes.
