Dough-

  • 1 (.25 oz) packet active dry yeast

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 cup warm water, 110 degrees F

  • 2 1/2 cups flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  • pam cooking spray

  • salt and garlic powder to taste

Pizza-

  • 8 ounces good quality pizza sauce

  • 9 mozzarella string cheese sticks

  • 2 cups Kroger Pizza Blend shredded cheese

  • 2 ounces crumbled feta

  • 1/2 ounce grated Parmesan Romano

  • fresh minced basil for garnish

Preheat oven to 450 F

In a large mixing bowl combine yeast with sugar and warm water. Let sit for 10 minutes or until creamy.

Beat in flour, salt and oil using a bread mixer attachment for kitchen aid. Beat on medium speed until smooth, about 5 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes.

Flour your work station and using a rolling pin evenly roll out a very large 1/4” thick circle of dough.

Transfer dough to a greased large circular pizza sheet letting a good few inches of dough hang from the perimeter.

Place 9 string cheese sticks up against the crust of the pizza evenly and fold that extra perimeter of dough over them, tucking the dough under and flattening the pizza crust interior so everything is of equal thickness.

Use a fork and punch holes throughout the crust. Not the top part.

Spread pizza sauce over dough and sprinkle with all your pizza blend cheese and then the feta and Parmesan.

Spray the top of crust where mozzarella sticks are with a decent layer of pam cooking spray and sprinkle with salt and garlic powder. (You could also use melted butter instead of cooking spray but the spray works fine and saves some fat) The stuffed crust with these seasonings tastes very similar to Olive Garden bread sticks.

Bake for 15-17 minutes middle rack and then heat oven to broil and broil for a couple minutes just to get a nice golden cheese.

Slice into 8 slices
