French Onion Chip Dip

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  • 2 cups finely diced onion

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • Splash of worcestershire

  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/8 white pepper


Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium low heat; add the onions and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.


Cook and stir until the onions are caramelized to a nice golden brown, about 45-55 minutes.


Remove the onions from the heat and cool.


Mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, worcestershire, garlic powder, white pepper, and remaining salt. Stir in the onions when they are cool.


Cover and refrigerate the dip overnight before serving.
