French Dip Sandwiches with Au Jus

  • 4 pounds sirloin tip or chuck roast

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1 can Campbell’s beef consomme soup

  • 2 can Campbell’s condensed French onion soup

  • Dash of worcestershire

  • 3/4 bottle Guinness beer

  • 2 tablespoon Kitchen bouquet browning sauce

  • Provolone cheese

  • Hoagie buns


Sprinkle roast evenly with garlic powder place in crock pot and pour soups, worcestershire, beer and kitchen bouquet over the whole thing.

Cover and cook on low 7 hours, then remove and slice and return to crock pot 1 more hour.

Preheat oven to broil. Lightly butter hoagie buns and lay cheese on them. Broil a couple minutes until toasty.


Place meat on rolls and then sliced cheese.

Serve the au jus along with them for dipping.
